About our Communities

The ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥â€™s First Year Experience Living Learning Communities (LLCs) and Themed Living Communities (TLCs) provide an introductory leadership experience within the context of a residential setting.

Students interested in an LLC or TLC for Fall 2026 must attend one of the summer orientation sessions in June 2026.

LLC students learn through a cohort style of learning by taking one or more linked courses together throughout the year. TLC students take advantage of theme-specific programming opportunities.

You can expect to:

  • Meet new people who share similar interests and goals
  • Develop relationships with staff and faculty
  • Benefit from one-on-one mentorship
  • Participate in programs and workshops based on a common theme
  • Explore identities as leaders on campus
  • Learn about valuable resources that can assist in the goal of being successful
  • Make a positive contribution to the ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ community

If you participate in an LLC or TLC, you will be housed with other members of that community in a common first-year building. Each community will benefit from the involvement of a professional staff advisor, a resident advisor (RA), and a first-year expert.
