The 成人直播's Westbrook College of Health Professions prepares students to be leaders in their health care fields.
成人直播 is one of a handful of private universities with a comprehensive health education mission including medicine, pharmacy, dental medicine, nursing and an array of allied health professions. The Westbrook College of Health Professions encompasses Applied Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Dental Hygiene, Nursing, Nurse Anesthesia, Nutrition, Occupational Studies, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Public Health, and Social Work.
Guided by faculty on the cutting edge of their disciplines, our students participate in clinical simulations, service learning activities, clinical rotations and other experiences that enable them to transition smoothly into the workforce upon graduation.
Our interprofessional education initiatives prepare future health care professionals to practice comprehensive and collaborative team-based care. Students from across our different health professions programs work beside one another as they treat patients, participate in simulations and conduct research. As a result, each student comes to better appreciate the roles played by the other members of the health care team.
Our Portland Campus for the Health Sciences is just minutes from Maine's leading hospitals and clinics, providing rich opportunities for students to carry the knowledge they gain on campus into the field. People from across Northern New England travel to Portland for medical services, and often their needs are met by 成人直播 students.

Exceptional Teaching and Learning
成人直播 opened my eyes to so many new opportunities. As an Athletic Training student, I had diverse clinical rotation opportunities that allowed me to work anywhere from high schools, to colleges, and even the orthopedic clinic and operating room setting.
I was exposed to a diverse group of athletes/patients and communities that helped form our basis for communication with people from all walks of life. I was required to communicate with parents, athletes, coaches, other athletic trainers, and different medical professionals. Clinical rotations put you into a safe location to work under certified athletic trainers while obtaining hands-on, on-field assessments of real-time injuries and patients.
成人直播 is also one of the few schools in New England that has a and allows undergraduate students to have classes in the lab. Having access to the gross anatomy lab was such an advantage to be able to understand the basics and complexity of the human body.
成人直播 taught me to care for everyone around me. The 成人直播 community prides itself on caring for the people and planet around them.
成人直播 taught me, 鈥渁 patient does not care how much you know, until they know how much you care.鈥 One of my professors made sure we would never forget this quote, and now it will follow me through the rest of my life as both a person and a professional. Healthcare isn鈥檛 only based on how much you, as a provider, know. It is also based on showing patients compassion for their ailments and treating the patient as a whole and not only the injury.

The 成人直播 Portland Campus for the Health Sciences
For decades, 成人直播鈥檚 Portland Campus has been home to many of the University鈥檚 health professions programs including PA, PT, OT, pharmacy, nursing, dental medicine, and more. In 2025, 成人直播鈥檚 College of Osteopathic Medicine will move from the Biddeford Campus into the new Harold and Bibby Alfond Center for Health Sciences in Portland. By bringing our health professions programs together into one interprofessional learning community, we will establish 成人直播鈥檚 Portland Campus for the Health Sciences as the center of health care education in Northern New England.
