​Julie has been an adjunct instructor with the Department of Exercise Science since 2021, teaching the Fundamentals of Dance course.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and in Human Services from Elon University and is trained in modern, ballet, and jazz dance techniques as well as dance history, choreography, and improvisation. 

Julie has performed professionally with the Walt Disney Company and has choreographed for dance companies and colorguard groups across the country.  She has over 20 years of experience as a dance instructor and has coached Winter Guard International finalists.  She is currently the director of Brio Dance Studio and performs with Collective Motion Dance Company.
