Dianne Smallidge has practiced as a registered dental hygienist since graduating from Westbrook College/³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ in 1979. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire in 1983, a Master’s degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Tennessee in 2009, and an EdD from Plymouth State University in December 2017.

Dr. Smallidge began her career in dental hygiene education as an adjunct clinical faculty member at ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ in 1999, where she taught until 2008. She then transitioned to a full-time faculty position at MCPHS University and the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene, where she served as Dean starting in 2019 until her departure in 2024. In August 2024 she returned to ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥ and is honored to be serving as Program Director for the Dental Hygiene program at her alma mater.

Dr. Smallidge is a longstanding member of both the ADHA and ADEA. She has been actively involved in service to ADEA, including the SIG for Dental Hygiene Graduate Education and the CADPDC Planning Committee. She is currently serving as Chair of the Council for Allied Dental Program Directors.
