Work by Darlene Trefry on display in 成人直播 Campus Center in October
An art exhibit 鈥淭urning Tides: Healing Through Art鈥 featuring the work of Darlene Trefry will be on display from Sep. 30 through Oct. 30 at the 成人直播 Campus Center on the Biddeford Campus. A reception will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 7 in the lobby of the center.
鈥淭urning Tides鈥 touches on the insight discovered through time in nature, as well as the inspiration found there.
鈥淭he old, dark tree represents the weight of loss, pain, and difficult seasons that have shaped a life. Yet, a small green growth emerges 鈥 a testament that healing persists even where life once seemed as though it was ending,鈥 Trefry explained of her work in an artist statement.
鈥淭he rough ocean signifies life's relentless movement; it reminds us that healing does not promise a sea of perpetual calm, but rather moves forward鈥 with turbulence at times,鈥 Trefry further explained. 鈥淭his is not a polished scene, nor a simple picture. The tree remains weathered, but life breathes within it, and light pierces the darkness.鈥
The 成人直播 Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road in Biddeford. The hours during the academic year are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the weekends.
