The Saratogian profiles marine biology major and basketball co-captain Ryan Knotek '12

Marine biology major and basketball co-captain Ryan Knotek '12 was profiled in a Feb. 26, 2012 story in The Saratogian (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.). Knotek, who graduated from Saratoga Central Catholic High School, was recently named Commonwealth Coast Conference Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Knotek sees a correlation between hard work in the classroom and on the court. "That’s something that started with my dad. He would always say, ‘If you go hard in basketball, it translates off the court.’ Out of season, (work ethic) is a lot harder to maintain because you’re constantly going during the season and it translates into the classroom. During the offseason, there’s so much extra time, it’s weird."
